NASSCO wins potential US$106m Navy ship dry-docking maintenance contract

General Dynamics’ subsidiary NASSCO has won a repair contract with a potential US$106m value from the US Navy, to carry out the fiscal 2017 dry-docking phased maintenance availability for the USS Makin Island amphibious assault ship. This was announced on 7 June 2017.

The US Department of Defense had earlier said that General Dynamics’ NASSCO will perform ship maintenance, modernisation and repair services under the firm-fixed-price contract.

Work will be undertaken in San Diego, California, and completed by September 2018.
